Working out with your clients in their homes is an option for any trainer, and by offering this option to your clients you can increase your potential client base by a dramatic number, and you may even decide to exclusively offer home personal training. In order to decide if this type of business model is for you, there are several points to consider, and they include time management, exercise modalities to be used, and business resources that are available.

Client input is either a really great resource or just a pain in the process. For me it goes both ways, some clients offer input that is useful and important to the design while others need something that will either hurt their image or is impossible to give. In this article we will give you the pros and cons of each type of client as well as how you can redirect bad clients in a way that will help you in your process.

All of your time and energy is drained in serving these clients, you lose any enthusiasm you ever had for your business, and you no longer have the time or desire to go out and market yourself and continue to fill your client roster. Check your client roster against these 7 signs -- is it time for you to shake out your client roster?

In the current economic climate many salons will do 1 of 3 things; 1: Do nothing and hope for the best (the business equivalent of sitting in a leaking boat and hoping the tide will go out before you sink), 2: Start slashing prices (not attractive to potential clients and does nothing but lose you MORE money), 3: Start using cheap products hoping clients won't notice (NOTE: Clients WILL notice and they WON'T like it). But while many salons will do one of these 3 things, there will be a small percentage of salons that will be tapping into the 1 area of salon business that costs the LEAST but can do the MOST for your business in these uncertain times. This area is SERVICE.
